Literacy Mat for the VCE EAL listening task

This is a literacy mat to support EAL students from years 9-12 with practise tasks for the VCE EAL Exam. This mat is double sided colour printable that can be laminated and used in class when doing listening lessons.
It has vocab lists for tone speaker attitudes and relationships, explanations of the paralinguistic elements, ‘before listening’ prompts, sentences starters to support students in answering the short paragraph questions on language choice and delivery

Students can translate words in their language and write on the paper before laminating so they can see English and their language side by side, as the build language as well as exam skills in preparation for the end of year 12.

This can be used with a range of listening texts and at a range of EAL levels from the English Language Center, Year 9 and 10 EAL, Bridging EAL and VCE EAL.
