The bundle focuses on key areas and figures from Ancient Rome. The bundle contains eight reading comprehension activities, two biography writing units about Julius Caesar and Augustus, an informational text writing unit about Ancient Rome, and a discussion based writing activity about who was the greatest Roman leader from Ancient Rome. The activities are perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4.

23 Lessons, or 23 hours of activities, with NO PREP needed!

Firstly, there are eight reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:

  • An Overview of Ancient Rome
  • Julius Caesar
  • Augustus
  • Spartacus
  • Hannibal
  • Constantine
  • Cleopatra
  • Mark Antony

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Secondly, there are two biography writing units about Julius Caesar and Augustus. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Then, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Rome. There are 25 posters or cards that include many of the key events and periods from the founding of Rome to the end of the empire. The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant introduction to Ancient Rome. The displays and cards come both with dates and without dates, so the students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. The cards look even better when laminated.

Then, there is an informational text writing unit about Ancient Rome. The unit has also been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Finally, there is a discussion based writing unit discussing who is the greatest leader from Ancient Rome. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Good luck, I hope you get some great results!
