Local area writing practice 40-50 words

Prince Language Learning is pleased to offer you this 4 part writing resource intended to improve your pupils ability to answer the Edexcel 40-50 word writing task based on the topic of “local area”.

There are four stages, from fully scaffolded to independent writing, to be used as you feel necessary for your pupils, although we recommend using them in order with adequate time in between them to trigger retrieval.

Stage 1 tells pupils what words they need and how to put them together in easy to follow structured sentences.

Stage 2 gives pupils a bit more independence in choosing the words they will use.

Stage 3 removes the hints for the sentence structure

Stage 4 removes all scaffolding and expects pupils to remember the work they did in the previous stages to create a 40-50 word answer that is likely to achieve a high mark.
