New Year is a time to celebrate and enjoy planning the year ahead. The parade was started on January 1st 1987 – the year before founders Bob and Geri Bone wanted to blow away the Christmas cobwebs and take their family for a day out on New Year’s Day. This assembly looks at the history of this special parade and how it embraces all cultures and many countries are represented each year. It also takes the opportunity of encouraging pupils to “try something new”.
This assembly script and presentation fits with many general primary school assembly themes and in particular New Beginnings and Going for Goals.
