Lost Happy Endings Guided reading tasks

This is a guided reading resource for the text Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy and Jane Ray.

For each week of the term you will find 1 guided reading ‘RIC’ activity ready to print out for the children and display on the interactive whiteboard (ppt). There are 5 RICs in total and therefore enough for 5 weeks (1 per week).

RIC stands for retrieve, interpret, choice. There are 3 questions for each image taken from the book to answer. 1 retrieval question, 1 interpret question and 1 choice question. This activity supports children’s understanding of the book and how to unpick it using different lenses.
