These magazine-style maths prompts are designed to be used alongside free, shopping images such as supermarket booklets from Aldi or Lidl.
They support children to work independently, applying their number skills to real-life contexts they recognise and understand. Pupils are encouraged to estimate first, calculate accurately and explain their thinking using a range of number strategies.
Because the prompts are open and flexible, all learners can access the same task while working at their own level, helping to build confidence and real-life maths skills.
If you use these in your classroom, I’d love to see how they’re used - feel free to share and tag @teachingintechnicolour on Instagram.
