This resource is an introduction to using Think Boards to solve addition and subtraction word problems within 20. The first six Think Boards feature “Result Unknown” word problems and the second six feature “Change Unknown” word problems. This math word problem resource features 12 Think Boards – 2 to a page.

Think Boards are a great, visual device for helping children to solve math word problems. They encourage the use of different strategies to solve the problems. Armed with the knowledge and experience of using a variety of strategies, the children will start to make their own decisions as to the most appropriate strategy for them to use at any one time.
