A fun and popular pupil activity booklet to reinforce the understanding of decimals (hundredths), percentages, volume, area and perimeter. This resource can be used with the Minecraft Maths Powerpoint on my site or as a follow-up to a revision of these topics.
This is a set of problem solving activities for year 4 maths, mostly adapted from 'Mathematical Challenges for Able Pupils&'.
I ran this lesson as a carousel in mixed abilities.
I laminated the Christmas tree and snowman sheets so that children could use whiteboard pens to find different solutions.
Feedback much appreciated, enjoy!
Two separate Christmas-themed activities for your run up to the festive season. The first, Christmas Co-ordinates, gives an easy to follow co-ordinates drawing activity for your students. But what will the shapes be? A blank grid is included for simple printing for each student to label and work with.
Secondly, have you ever wondered how much money was spent by the person who, for 12 days before Christmas, bought their true love presents each day until Christmas? Well, using Google I've looked into it...so...what will the answer be?
Below are word documents with the new Curriculum 2014 objectives for each year group in the primary phase. I thought of using them by RAG rating children's understanding of the objectives featured. Use each year group objective sheet to suit the individual needs of groups of children in your class.
There are 4 sets of questions (Number, Algebra, Shape, Data) which are mainly A and A* (with some lower grade questions from topics which students struggle with, e.g. percentages, constructions). PLEASE REVIEW / COMMENT. Students work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions. When they finish a question they get it marked and if it is correct they are given cash to the value of the question. There are bank notes which you can put your school name and pictures of your teachers on. The team with the most money at the end could be given a prize.
Attached is a document for use in children's books to set and assess objectives in Year 1 - old national curriculum levels are included for Year 1

Yr 1 Secure = 1b+/1a
Objectives could be dated and highlighted as achieved
