Maths for A-level Biology Revision Lesson Starters

Powerpoint containing 46 lesson starters to test understanding of the maths requirements for A-level Biology. Each slide covers a different maths skill (MS0.1 - MS4.1.

An answer slide with full worked answers is included after each individual lesson starter.

Each starter includes between 1 and 4 questions on each maths skill. Each ‘exemplification of mathematical skill in the context of biology’ has a separate lesson starter. Most slides contain 3-4 different questions, it’s just the few slides with graphs on that only include 1 question due to space.

I use this as a reality check to try and bring it home to students the range of maths skills they are expected to be able to do!

Please note that this resource does not contain any teaching slides, it is designed to quickly check student’s understanding of a particular skill, so that they/you know which ones need working on.
