The second of eleven lessons that links to the role of religion in the Middle Ages.

This lesson examines the roles played by priests and religious orders.

Included are worksheets on:

  1. A matching exercise for keywords for this lesson.
  2. A list of five of the seven sacraments and the role of medieval priest
  3. The role of six religious orders/monastic houses.

This is part of a series of lessons that aims to encompass the new 9-1 GCSE skills into Key Stage 3.

This lesson includes an ‘Explain one way in which something is similar/different than …’ type question, linking to Question 3 on Paper 1 (Crime and Punishment, Medicine, Warfare).

Lessons are colourful and engaging and match the content of the new Exploring History textbook from Pearson, although the textbook is not necessary for any of the tasks.
