A quick 5 minute energiser that can be used to bring a bit of fun and a competitive element to the lesson. It can be done at any point during the lesson and can easily be adapted to specific topics or subjects.

Essentially this is a memory test/game. The students will be given 60 seconds to look at a paper or screen with a certain number of random objects visible. They are not allowed to write anything down in this initial 60 seconds. Once the time is up they will be given another 60 seconds to write down as many objects as they can remember. Number of objects on screen and time limits can easily be adapted to tailor certain age and ability groups. The objects on screen can also be made more specific to certain subjects, for example, a pie chart and a bar chart could be included during a maths lesson.

From the teachers point of view, it can be a way to learn about students learning habits. Some learners may just list the items, whereas others may be more visual and write down the objects in the exact place they saw them on the screen.
