The first resource requires students to think about some metaphors they may come across in everyday speech, some of which have become so commonplace that they have become idioms. Students must explain the comparison being drawn by the metaphor and how this creates the meaning.

The second worksheet is a great homework task and encourages students to think about making their own comparative links in order to come up with metaphors of their own.
