This pack contains a complete lesson where students can design their own mooncake to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival! There are many types of mooncakes (both sweet and savoury), and they come in all shapes and sizes. Every year, restaurants, hotels, and food companies compete to come up with new and attractive mooncake recipes.
In this activity, students make a paper mooncake which opens up. They design the outside of the mooncake and also draw the interior to show what flavours are being used. I originally used this with a P2 class but it is suitable for a wide range of ages.
This pack contains:
- Lesson plan
- Short presentation to introduce students to mooncakes
- Mooncake template
- Take home handout on Mid Autumn Festival
You will also need:
- Yellow or brown cardstock (2 sheets per student)
- White paper (1 sheet per student)
- Drawing materials (crayons, etc)
- Scissors
- Glue sticks or tape
If you want to save paper, you can do a single layer mooncake by only printing certain pages.
