I have used this idea with KS3 and KS4. I photocopy the worksheet onto A3 and get students to work in 3's to say whether the picture shows and element, compound or mixture and then to identify, using the key, what the diagrams represent. As an extension students name the compounds. They can then make up their own diagrams of compounds and/or evaluate the models.
