This Much Ado About Nothing workbook is a structured, exam-ready resource covering the full play through 12 chronological extracts, from the opening “merry war” of wit through to the double wedding. Unlike extract-referenced workbooks that point students back to their own copy of the text, every extract is reproduced in full (Shakespeare’s text is public domain, so there’s no need to work around it) in modernised, RSC/Folger-style spelling, with any mid-scene cuts clearly marked and explained.

The resource includes:

Quotation analysis tasks (“Explode the Quotation”): a mind-map style diagram bursting a key quote apart, word by word
Summary and Writer’s Intention sections
Close reading questions, quote-anchored throughout
Thematic links across nine tracked ideas: Love, Deception and Appearance vs Reality, Honour and Reputation, Gender and Patriarchy, Wit and Language, Family and Duty, Conflict, Individual Will vs Society, and Fate, each with its own icon, so students build a genuine map of the play’s ideas rather than 12 disconnected extracts
Extension questions for stretch and challenge

This version is blank for student use, with space to record ideas and answers directly in the document. A filled-in teacher copy is available separately, with full model responses written to a Grade 7–9 standard throughout.

Perfect for:

KS4 English Literature
AQA, Edexcel, OCR and other exam boards
Independent study, revision, cover lessons, and whole-class teaching

Fully editable Word file. Adapt extracts, questions, or theme selection to suit your own scheme of work.
