A lesson great for KS3 & KS4 pupils.
The lesson focuses on three small extracts about Nancy:
- Where she dresses up as a respectable lady to try to take Oliver from the jail
- Where Fagin convinces Nancy and Bill to go kidnap Oliver from Mr.Brownlow
- Where Nancy tries to stop Fagin from beating Oliver up
The pupils are encouraged to focus on what each mini-extract reveals about Nancy, through also using quotations and analysis.
The end of the lesson they are encouraged to debate why Nancy makes the decisions that she does, and whether she is a good or bad character and why.
