Lesson Title: Nazi Education
This lesson examines how the Nazis used education as a tool of indoctrination, shaping the beliefs and values of German youth to support the regime. Students analyse real examples of Nazi school textbooks, new subjects such as Eugenics and Race Studies, and the differences between boys’ and girls’ education under Nazi rule.
Lesson includes:
Engaging starter activity using real Nazi maths textbook questions to introduce racial indoctrination.
Key vocabulary and definitions: antisemitism, discrimination, indoctrination.
Exploration of a Nazi school timetable (girls vs. boys) with discussion tasks.
Analysis of how subjects such as PE, Eugenics, and Race Studies reinforced Nazi ideology.

Discussion and debate tasks: “If we were taught to be racist as children, would we be racist as adults?”
