Monster Balloon Pop is a Math game that can be played two ways. Firstly you can play it as a roll and cover game. The students throw 2 dice and cover the corresponding number on the board. The first student to cover all their numbers wins. Then there are the more powerful ways to play where you substitute specialized playing card decks for the dice.

There are 5 Card Decks Included in this Download to Help You Differentiate the Game.

Deck 1 - Numbers 1-12 as numbers
Deck 2 - Numbers 1-12 as words.
Deck 3 - Numbers 1-12 as matchstick tallies.
Deck 4 - Numbers 1-12 as 10 Frames
Deck 5 - Numbers 1-12 in subitized form.

The Roll and Cover Game:

What You Need:

2 Players
2 Dice or a Set of Cards
1 Game Board For each player
12 Counters for each player

Preparation:

- If using the cards, create a deck of the skills you want the students to practise e.g. The Tally Deck, the Subitized Deck and the 10 Frame Deck.
- Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a deck in the centre of the playing area.

How to Play:

1.Player One rolls the dice adds the numbers or turns over a card and works out the number represented.
2.Player One then covers the corresponding number on their board.
3.Player Two then repeats Steps 1 & 2.
4.Play continues in this turn-a-bout fashion until one player covers all the numbers one their board.

How to Win:

First player to cover all their numbers wins the game.
