This outstanding, creative scheme of work covers the full iterative design process where students designs a piece of contemporary lighting for Ikea, using recycled ocean plastics.

This scheme offers an excellent introduction to the design process, the value of design, and designing for sustainability through project-based learning. This also includes differentiated activities, problem solving and extension activities.

Lessons cover:

♦ Sketching techniques - Are sketching and drawing the same thing?

♦ Product Analysis - How can you really understand a product?

♦ Plastic Theory - Is plastic fantastic?

♦ Ideation with SCAMPER - How do designers come up with ideas in the first place?
