This resource is designed to be used alongside the reading of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. You will find 12 different important extracts with a range of key questions from chapters 1-48. The questions build in difficulty and complexity - from simple comprehension questions to questions which guide pupils towards a deeper analysis of the text. The questions develop pupils familiarity with subject specific terminology, enable them to uncover layers of meaning and can lead to new/different understandings and inferences. The reading strategies and questioning styles have been incorporated form Doug Lemov's 'Reading Reconsidered.'
