Fill in an empty medal table from the 2008 Olympic games using the clues provided.
ALL information required to fill in the table is included on the two pages of clues. I usually get the children to work in pairs and allow them to ask no more than three questions during the whole lesson.
The powerpoint has the answers in it and also a starter slide showing an interesting map - description is included in the powerpoint!
As a plenary, there is a slide showing the changing number of total medals won over the modern era. It shows the boycott of the Moscow and LA games (1980 and 1984), the break up of the Soviet Union (1992), and the emergence of China as a major world power.
