This lesson was used in an NQT review lesson and was graded as outstanding. It includes a presentation which is complete with starter activities, a guide through the lesson, interactive timer, lots of images for support, questioning throughout and an outline of the practical activity.

The practical was using eggs without shells to model animal cells and were placed in different salt concentrations and mass change measured to show the effects of hyper-, hypo- and iso-tonic solutions.

Lesson also includes two sets of assessment including one based on scientific method and evaluation and a knowledge based 6-mark question.

Lesson was pitched at a very high ability group but there are hint sheets and other simple ways to differentiate this down to all abilities.
