Who it is for?

Year 2 T Level Health, Occupational Specialism Option E: Supporting the Therapy Teams. Also useful for Adult Nursing, midwifery support and Level 3 Health & Social Care groups who see these tools on placement or in the skills lab.
The problem it solves

Most T Level students — and many teachers who are not registered therapists — can name Barthel or NEWS2 but cannot say what the number means, which way “better” goes, or what a therapy support worker is allowed to do with the tool. This guide fixes that in one printable booklet.

How to use it

Print one each. Talk through one family of tools (daily living / whole person / mobility / safety screens). Keep the comparison table on the desk during skills lab and written tasks. It is a student guide, not a full scheme of work.

NCFE T Level Technical Qualification in Health (603/7066/X), Option E. NCFE names TOM, COPM, AMPS and Barthel in the occupational specialism materials. The other tools are the ones students meet on ward and in sim.
