  • Roll or place 5 objects/counters on the top of the grass
  • Record numbers in the part-whole model
  • Use counters, objects, or numbered log discs
  • Complete number sentences (e.g. 3+2=5)

Below Expected

  • Place objects or counters into the circles
  • Reinforce understanding using numbered log discs 0–5
  • No number sentences required (teacher can model to extend if appropriate)
