Pearson provide a number of assess and reading tests for their phonics bug modules. This is an excel file that can immediately show you if the child is on track (OT), working towards (WT) or below (B) age related expectations. Simply select the correct book band for that child and then type in the percentage (without the percent sign) into the ‘score’ column. The attainment column will automatically update to show at what level the child is working at, all colour coded!

Split into each half term for the year with tabs for different classes. Personalisable.

Reading Practise and Assessment - Pearson (Phases 2 and 3)

This reading bundle comes packed with everything you need to begin assessment with your students. This bundle focuses on Phase 2 and 3 (other phases are under construction!) * **Reading Phrases**: documents compiled of over 200 phrases that can be used to assess reading for Phases 2 and 3. These pages are in order from set 1-11 and can be photocopied and cut out to be used for specific purposes. In addition, they come with a reference number attached to each phrase which links with the assessment material provided in this bundle. * **Reading Tracker**: these excel files are a whole class approach to reading assessment. Write the students’ names at the top and tick off the sentences they are able to read as you go along. Can be printed or kept as an online assessment method. * **Reading Assessment**: an individual approach to reading assessment. This is to be used per student, writing their names and date of assessment at the top and can be kept in their personal progress files. Based off a similar template used by Pearson, a key is provided to monitor accuracy and miscues. Provides a result into the accuracy of a student’s reading using a small table. Each page of this reading assessment links with a page from the Reading Phrases document, to maintain homogeneity. * **Reading Key Notes**: a document providing some example phrases to use when assessing strengths and difficulties students may encounter (can be used to inform assessment, report writing or personal notes). * **Letters and Sounds**: a list compiled of all the graphemes, phonemes and digraphs children will encounter in phases 2-5 * **High Frequency Words**: a list compiled of all the high frequency words children will encounter in phases 2-5 **BONUS** A Reading and Assessment spreadsheet that can be used to track the results of the tests conducted for each half term (tests provided by Pearson - From Pink A to Red Plus KS2)
