This resource contains content for two lessons focusing on PEEL paragraph writing for exam type questions.

The first lesson contains a variety of activities to introduce the skills to students. It consists of a starter, 3 I’s, discussion prompts, a teacher led section on what PEEL is, model answer and then two practice exercises in using the PEEL structure. The first is a question about a picture and the second about a text. Both include sentence starters for prompting. It then ends with a fun plenary.

The second lesson also begins with a starter, the 3 I’s and then focuses on an extract from the Edexcel unseen anthology - Harriet Tubman (pages 4-5) and the questions that come with that (4-6 on Paper 1 Edexcel English Language 2.0). It also includes a video for historical context and a reflective plenary.
