A three week KS2 writing unit with a powerful environmental theme. All lesson plans, PowerPoints and activitiy resources included - it’s ready to go. Pupils explore a one-sided argument about fossil fuels, and then create their own persuasive writing about food waste. Turn your class into eco-heroes! Teach children about persuasive devices, and encourage them to use these skills to make a positive change.
I used this project in Y4, but it could be quickly adapted for any KS2 class - all resources are fully editable.
If you buy this resource, ignore the preview images (these are just png screen shots) and open the zip folder. Inside this folder, you will find full versions of all plans, presentations and tasks, organised into lesson-by-lesson folders for ease of use.

Hi, I love the resources, but I can´t seem to find the text for lesson 3 on fossil fuels and lesson 4 on SUVs

Hi, thanks so much for your kind review. Glad you are enjoying the unit. In lesson three (and many other sessions) you need the model text and this can be found in the 'model text and text maps' folder. This text drives the whole unit. Session 4 is a reading comprehension lesson - children answer questions about the model text. Session 5 is about SUVs. There is no text for this lesson; children use the word banks to argue for or against luxury cars. Please contact me if you need any support: speaktomaurice@hotmail.com

Your detailed planning is amazing, thank you for creating this resource. The story map only contains the introduction and conclusion, is there any chance that you have the rest of the story map available?

Hello. Thanks very much for the review. I appreciate it! With this text, we only learned the first and last paragraphs, but I have just added a further paragraph for you.
