Phase 2 Phonics Reading Comprehension Pack – 10 decodable CVC passages with simple questions for Reception and Year 1!

These reading comprehension passages are designed for children working within Phase 2 phonics and use simple decodable sentence structures to support early reading and understanding.

Progression:

Children move from reading simple repeated CVC sentences → short connected mini-passages → answering basic retrieval-style questions. Slightly more challenging than basic CVC but still fully decodable.
