Students examine scenes where Jade begins to articulate her feelings more confidently. After a short recap of rhetorical devices (such as repetition, rhetorical questions, and emotive language), groups work together to locate three examples in the novel where Jade uses these techniques to express her voice.

The main task is for each group to identify three rhetorical devices and write one clear sentence explaining how each device strengthens Jade’s message or emotional impact.
