Ten structured writing projects, each with three student worksheets and accompanying teachers’ notes, in a 68-page PDF for KS4. Includes a general accuracy checksheet, teaching guidelines and original historical English curriculum reference pages.

The 30 worksheet stages guide students from generating ideas and planning through a first draft to revising and presenting a final version. Projects include a holiday brochure, a work-experience report, a TV promotion, a soap episode outline, narrative writing, complaint letters, descriptions of people, a radio talk, a detective story and a debate.

Use the three stages of a project as a sequence, allowing students to work at a suitable pace and focus on aspects of writing they need to develop. Activities encourage reflection on clarity, accuracy, style and impact in students’ own and others’ writing. Teachers’ notes give aims, preparation, classroom-management advice and extensions.

This is the original publication, previously titled Structured Drafting and Redrafting at Key Stage 4. Historical coursework and curriculum references are retained; no alignment with current GCSE assessment arrangements is claimed.
