

This lesson supports the AQA Trilogy Combined Science specification poitns: 4.2.3 Plant tissues, organs and systems, 4.2.3.1 Plant tissues.
Students will:
- Describe and explain how the structure of plant tissues (epidermis, palisade mesophyll, spongy mesophyll, xylem, phloem, guard cells and meristem) is related to their function
- Explain how root hair cells, xylem vessels and phloem tubes are adapted for water and mineral uptake, the transpiration stream and translocation
