Practise plotting quadratic graphs: complete the table of values, plot the points, join them with a smooth curve, then write down the lowest point. Four graphs to a page so there is room to draw. 16 questions, full answers included.
Worksheet (2 pages): starts with y = x² and simple shifts such as y = x² − 4 and y = x² + 1, then adds an x term with y = x² + 2x, y = x² − 2x − 3, y = x² − 4x and y = x² + 4x + 3.
Further practice (2 pages): graded by difficulty. Graphs where students read off where the curve crosses the x axis, an upside-down curve with a highest point, the height of a fountain jet, the width that gives a rectangle its greatest area, a dolphin’s leap, estimating roots from a graph, and finding the wrong value in someone else’s table.
Answers to all 16 questions are included as a separate file.
Suitable for GCSE Foundation (AQA A12) and for Key Stage 3 classes working on quadratic graphs.
