I created these cards for year 3 children to practice their plurals at at home alongside their reading at the end of a unit of work on plurals. The aim was create quick cards to revise the rules and find examples and exceptions to the rules. This put the responsibility on them to apply their learning independently. The children were encouraged to complete an activity for a rule a day and say all the rules each day. i printed them out 2 by 2 on landscape and this meant I could copy them in rows. The children then cut out two at a time and folded the slides so they were back to back with the rule one side and activity the other. We then turned these into flip books. It seems to have worked - children knew the rules (though exceptions still proved tricky) and they preferred the task to a worksheet.
