Do your students struggle with shades of meaning and distinguishing between positive, negative, and neutral connotations of words? The task cards in this activity gives students the neutral, positive, and negative connotation of a word. Students sort the words by the type of connotation, and then they use context clues to determine which positive or negative connotation of the word to use. This activity set includes 12 connotation task cards (black and white and color version) and recording sheets, Also, there are blank copies of the activities to create your own activities, as well as, answer sheets for the activities. Students can also use the blank versions to create their own activities and writing.
