Video by Raffaele Vesco. Inspired by the maharajas' concept of royal identity, fifth grade students from Sherman Elementary School, San Francisco Unified School District, created self-portraits with guidance from ArtSeed artist, Marissa Kunz and teacher, Buzz Harris. Students observed how art conveys power by looking at architecture, transportation, clothing, jewelry, weapons, religious symbols, and other imagery. Then, they imagined themselves in positions of power - imaginary or actual - and created a self-portrait based on that idea.
