Your students will love this fantastic pack of Science activities, ideal for supporting teaching of Properties of Materials! Included are six materials activities :

-Investigate it!
Teddy's umbrella has a hole in it! Students investigate which material would be best to fix it.

-Create it!
Students design their own chair, thinking carefully about the properties the materials it is made from need. They label the materials they would use and describe why they have chosen them.

-Match it!
Students match up the cards into sets of a) material, b) properties and c) uses.

-Define it!
Student match up the vocabulary cards and their definitions.


-Find it!
Students find items in the classroom made from plastic, wood and metal.

-Describe it!
Students describe the material on the card (set of 12 cards included), without saying the three forbidden words on their card. Their partner must guess the material.

Included are detailed, clear instructions on how to set up the activities and the additional equipment needed for 'Investigate it!'. Also included is a KWL (what I know already, what I would like to know and what I learnt) for student to complete prior and after the unit.

Both UK and US alternative spelling/vocabulary also included.
