- READY TO TEACH * (LESSON 3/5 - CRIME)
Pupils begin the lesson with a fun activity ‘Spot the Crook.’ Discuss how often burglary happens within the UK. Identify the main strategies used to effectively help a homeowner protect their own home. Using this information (plus their own ideas), pupils are required to create a billboard poster reminding homeowners of how best to protect their homes against burglaries. Show examples as scaffolding for lower ability pupils. As a plenary, pupils complete the task (slide 10) based on short-term memory. Create a competition with class members to see who is up for the challenge in relaying the answers.
