Back to basics, link this PSHE lesson to your school behaviour policy as a back to school reminder. Focuses on being courteous. Breaks down what the word means followed by 3 tasks:
Task 1 list ways to be courteous at school
Task 2 write an acrostic poem for the word courteous
Task 3 design a symbol to represent courteous
Each task is accompanied by an model/wagoll/example either for you the teacher to guide your or to share with children as mini plenaries.
Session also includes Think/Pair/ Share discussion opportunities. Remember to give students clear silent thinking time, depending on the age of children this could be anything from 20 -60 seconds before they pair, also set expectations that the first person has a clear time frame to talk and the partner must listen. Then swap.
