The ‘reading journey’ comprises of a range texts designed to support curriculum coverage as well as covering a range of genres: BAME (Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic) texts, significant authors, modern texts and picture books. They can be used flexibly as class readers, stimuli for whole class reading lessons, as part of cross curricular lessons or as texts to support writing. ‘Extended’ texts require a number of weeks to explore in a variety of lessons.
