When a summary can be produced in seconds, a “write about the chapter” task tells you very little. These 20 tasks ask students to engage with the text itself: choosing a sentence the writer could have cut, predicting and checking, bidding for the most important line, rewriting a scene from a minor character’s point of view, tracing the tension across a book. Each task has prompts at B1, B2 and C1.

The tasks don’t claim to detect AI use. They make real reading easier to see, and they give you a fair, conversation-based way to follow up when you have doubts.

TWO EDITIONS IN ONE PACK
Student’s Edition (13 pages): every task with three-level prompts and space to answer, an annotation symbol key, a reading tracker and a hand-in checklist.
Teacher’s Edition (18 pages): a teacher’s guide and task finder, plus a procedure, a teacher’s move, what to look for and what to collect for every task. It also includes a four-criterion classroom rubric and a worked demonstration on Kate Chopin’s The Story of an Hour (public domain): B1, B2 and C1 answers that quote the text, and an example answer for every task.
