#### Ratio and Proportion Problems

Spreadsheet for MS Excel 2007-2013. Requires macros to be enabled. Part of the Trinity Maths programme. Solve simple word problems involving direct proportion. Change from one currency into another using direct proportion. Divide or share a quantity into 2 or more parts in a given ratio. Solve direct proportion problems by unitary method, table or array, scaling, constant multipliers. Use parallel number lines to find a constant multiplier (scale factor). Adapt a recipe using a scaling method. Solve problems involving distance, speed & time using a table.

#### Angles and Triangles Crossword

This is a crossword testing pupils' knowledge of the different types of triangle (e.g. isoceles, scalene, etc.) and the different types of angle (acute, obtuse, etc.). Primarily this might be used for KS3 but could be used at KS2 or KS4 (as revision)

#### Negative numbers magic square

key words: directed numbers.
These are 4 magic squares that can be used to practise adding positive and negative numbers. The final square includes positive and negative decimals for use with the more able students. This is primarily aimed at KS3 but could be useful for KS2 or even KS4 revision

#### Algebraic fraction dominoes

There are 2 dominoes sets here. 1 is quite easy and most suitable for lower GCSE sets or KS3 classes. The harder dominoes set is more suitable for GCSE grade B/A, but could be used at A-level as revision of algebraic manipulations.

Flip- chart moves through stages of multiplication as repeated addition and then an array. Can be made more practical (fun) by having a collection of small pairs of socks and lots of real life examples of an array. Also children love the chocolate challenge!
#### Sequence Ratio Worksheet - Differentiated

This is a nice activity to introduce the idea of ratio, by using sequences. Suitable for KS2.

I found it useful to use pieces of card (e.g. 1 yellow for every 2 blue) to visually demonstrate beforehand (using volunteers - each holding the correct ratio) and show how to record this into a table on the whiteboard as you go, before using this resource as the main activity.

I also allowed children to use counters at their table to aid them whilst completing the worksheet, as this was very beneficial to some learners.
