A lesson looking at how artwork and imagery was/is influenced by the Church. Ask the children to draw a picture of Jesus in their books quickly. How do they know that that is what Jesus looked like? Have they met him? Really got my class thinking about why they drew him like that (especially considering that they were all very similar!) and when they saw the more modern artwork, they thought it was wrong! Very interesting lesson and quite fun for the kids too!
