Guy Fawkes, born in 1570, was an Englishman known for his role in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, a failed conspiracy aimed at assassinating King James I and blowing up the House of Lords. Fawkes, a Catholic, was part of a group that sought to end Protestant rule and restore Catholic leadership in England. The plot was uncovered, and Fawkes was arrested while guarding explosives placed beneath the Parliament building. He was subsequently tortured and executed. Today, Guy Fawkes is remembered each November 5th during Bonfire Night, where his image is often burned in effigies, symbolizing the foiling of the plot and the importance of parliamentary democracy.

Tower of London Bundle
The Tower of London, a historic landmark and UNESCO World Heritage Site, has stood for nearly 1,000 years as a royal palace, prison, and symbol of British history. Its imposing walls housed some of the most infamous prisoners in history, but not all stayed confined. Tales of daring escapes, such as those of John Gerard, who fled using a rope smuggled into his cell, or the Earl of Nithsdale, disguised in women’s clothing, add an element of intrigue to its legacy. These incredible stories highlight both the resilience of the prisoners and the Tower’s fascinating past as a place of both oppression and ingenuity.
