This Non Specialist Keyboard package is everything a non-specialist will need to deliver a practical music project on the keyboards. This package includes:

• A booklet consisting of all the written and practical work expected from the students, along with space for regular feedback and an assessment task.
• A PowerPoint loaded loaded with all starter and practical tasks, along with tutorial videos of every single practical task embedded into the PowerPoint, modelling and explaining each task.
• A Medium Term plan with breakdown of delivery for the staff member.
• A guide to help teachers if students are stuck or need guidance during the lesson on practical tasks, along with my contact email if there is any further support needed with delivery.

The Keyboards project itself covers:
Lesson 1: Introduction to the notes of the keyboard and playing with the Right Hand.
Lesson 2-5: Playing with the right hand (sequentially more difficult popular melodies, which start to include hand position changes in the final few tasks)
Lesson 6-7: Playing with the right hand (3 different melodies which start to include hand position changes)
Lesson 8-10: Playing with both hands together (Melodies in the right hand with basic bassline notes in the left hand played together, with most of the tunes in right hand students have already played, meaning the focus is adding the left hand at the same time).
Lesson 11-12: Assessment requiring students to use everything they have learnt in the project to practice and perform a melody and bassline with 2 hands together. Success criteria and space for feedback in booklet.

*this booklet has been tried and tested by 3 separate non-specialists in the 2025-26 academic year and all 3 specialists (2 art teachers and 1 drama teacher with no musical experience) were able to deliver the entire project successfully.
