This unit of work has been produced for key stage 3 to prepare them for source analysis skills at GCSE. It contains 4 lessons, an assessment lesson and a wordsearch (available separately). The lessons tell the story of Columbus’ first voyage using contemporary source material. Throughout students are taught how to answer inference questions and utility questions with model answers and opportunities to practice.
