Sixth Form Open Evening Pack – Edexcel French, Spanish & German

A comprehensive pack for MFL departments preparing their Sixth Form Open Evening. This resource is designed to create an informative and welcoming department setup and help prospective students explore studying a language at A-level with Edexcel, whether they choose French, Spanish or German.

The pack supports a department setup in a shared hall as well as in a classroom, with coordinated display materials, visitor handouts and a presentation that can be adapted to your department’s provision.

 ○ Editable slides to add your chosen literary works and films
 ○ Assessment and the Independent Research Project

• Three language-specific leaflets for prospective students, one for each language, covering course content, literary works and films, assessment, the Independent Research Project, and a short cultural quiz with answers
• Three Edexcel course overviews, one for each language, for visitors to browse at the table or take away
• Why learn languages? display with 14 A4 landscape pages exploring the benefits of language learning, transferable skills and possible career paths
• Three colour-coded expression-of-interest sheets, one per language, with space for student names and their current schools
• Practical teacher setup guide including:
 ○ Suggested arrangements for a shared hall, a separate room and a display board
 ○ Guidance on adapting the presentation and setting up continuous display
 ○ Printing guidance

All printable materials are supplied as non-editable PDFs. Leaflets, course overviews and expression-of-interest sheets are provided in colour and black-and-white versions. The presentation is supplied as a PowerPoint file (PPTX).

The resources can be used together or selected to suit the languages offered.
