This is a 7 week Unit of work. I teach it to year 8 but is suitable for all of KS3.

Included is: a power point which covers all seven lessons, a booklet which accompanies the power point or separate sheets if preferred, evaluation sheets, an assessment ladder, a scheme of work explain what to do and an independent homework project. (You will need a full set of Samba instruments!)

Learning Objectives:
1. To understand the origins of Samba music.
2. To recognise visually and aurally the instruments involved in a basic samba piece.
3. To combine polyrhythms to a constant pulse as part of a whole class ensemble and perform as a class.
To add dynamics and understand how to become a sensitive ensemblist.
4. To evaluate my own and others work.
5. To complete a Samba Music Independent Project.
