A website full of ideas for teaching Geology devised by Mike Tuke, a geology teacher with nearly 40 years experience.
There are visual aids, demonstrations, short practical activities, real experiments and thought experiments.
Most take a few minutes but some take up to 1 hour. Nearly all use materials and equipment found in science labs or available cheaply from hardware shops and gardens centres.
All the activities described have been tried and tested on A level students or mature students on Access courses or evening classes, and some on degree students and on primary children.
This video demonstrates some of the science that is shown at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 2011 for the exhibit entitled 'Geometry and light: the science of invisibility&'.

The book is designed to support new and existing science teachers. It put together a number of old and new ways to inspire students and engage them in their learning. This is particularly useful for new and trainee science teachers as it gives ideas and guidance, all in one place.
This is a merge of the 3 book in the series of making science engaging and memorable through the use of investigations and demonstrations.
This book contains all 150 demonstrations and investigations from the 3 books that are also available separately.
Covers all areas in the key stage three syllabus for Science at Key Stage3. This course includes over 300 Slides and is split up into the three main areas; biology, chemistry & physics. There are over 90 exercises to check understanding (answers are at the back).
Makes a great revision resource, workbook, source of exercises and questions, and allows students to consolidate what they have learned and double check they are ready for the exam. Also useful for students who may be home-schooled or out of mainstream education. I have used it to help prepare my students for the SATs, but it could also be used as a main teaching resource as it could easily stretch over a couple terms. Slides could be printed out and given out as homework. A bargain at only £7!
I have included some screenshots for you to assess the quality before purchasing to give you a feel of what to expect.
I hope you find this as useful as I have.
