Y.O.Y.O. lessons - Scientific investigations designed to develop problem solving skills and make independent learners of our spoon fed students! In this one they investigate how the surface area of a piece of paper affects the time it takes to hit the ground and how this relates to air resistance. Students must complete the set task without any help whatsoever from their teachers. They have only the worksheet to help them. They can only ask you a question if they use a joker card! (They have three of them - one specific question per Joker). Complete it without using jokers and win rewards! Character building for both staff and students and an excellent lesson to use for formal observations and OFSTED invasions. This is how real scientists are made. The resource comes with a set of joker cards, a worksheet for the lesson and a teacher guide with the YOYO rules as a PowerPoint. Enjoy!
