SEND Now/Next Board – Interactive HTML Tool

This is an interactive, SEND-friendly Now/Next visual timetable board designed to support pupils with structure, predictability and transitions throughout the school day. The board allows staff to quickly show pupils what is happening now, what is happening next, and what has been finished, using clear visual cards and accessible layouts. PECS style, but NOT PECS for copywright reasons.

The tool includes a customisable Visuals section where users can change the school logo, mascot and background image to suit their own setting. A first-use guidance popup directs users to the Settings area so they know where to personalise the board. The board opens with default placeholder visuals, but schools can replace these with their own branding.

Key features include:

clear Now, Next and Finished areas
SEND-friendly visual cards and PECS-style options
custom logo, mascot and background upload options
display mode for clean classroom presentation
teacher/pupil mode options
lock function to prevent accidental changes
weekly planner and day plan tools
routines, adjustable timer and transition support
saved settings using browser storage
optimised image handling to reduce storage issues

The board is designed as a standalone HTML file, meaning it can be opened directly in a browser without needing specialist software. It supports classroom routines, pupil independence, emotional regulation and transition management in a simple, visual and child-friendly way.
